From The Pastor’s Desk:
Dear friends and family of Brookfield-Immanuel,
During Advent and Christmas we celebrate the arrival of the Lord, mainly for the joy, peace, love and hope found in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We wait for Him as if we have not met Him, yet knowing what we do anticipate His love and mercy and healing.
Yes, this has been a hard year! In the midst of all our current challenges and concerns the love of God is made manifest to us in the wonderful gift of His Son, Jesus. With the angels in Bethlehem, our faith moves us to sing: “Glory to God in the highest and peace to His people on earth!” God is with us in it and through it. With deep joy and gratitude I extend my prayerful wishes during this Holy Season and into the New Year. During this time I hope each of us will find opportunities to reflect on our faith and relationship with our Blessed Lord and one another. Whatever it is that our hearts and souls desire whether we realize it or not, our ultimate desire is Jesus Himself. For this reason we are filled with joy and consolation at Christmas to know that all that we hoped for has been fulfilled in the Christ Child.
I hope that we will be able to get past this virus and begin anew. Together, as a people of faith we may grow in the strength and grace to know and celebrate God’s presence in our lives and His dominion over all things of this world.
May our Lord Jesus, born in Bethlehem, bless you, your families and loved ones.
